Lockport is two towns in one as far as a move goes. Limestone buildings from the canal days with stairs and no driveways, and subdivisions east of town where the houses are new and the carries are long. The plan is different for each.
The Downtown Historic District
Limestone and brick buildings along State Street, many with apartments above the storefronts. Narrow stairs, no loading zone, and everything gets wrapped on the way down. The stairs never cost extra.
The Streets By Dellwood Park
Victorians and Colonial Revivals from the 1880s through the 1920s. Tight staircases and tight landings, so bulky pieces come apart, get wrapped, and go back together at the other end.
Broken Arrow
Townhomes and duplexes north of Bruce Road with shared drives. We stage the truck where it won't box in your neighbors, and keep the carry short.
Creekside Estates
Larger homes on established lots. Deep basements and long driveways, so we walk the route first and bring the crew size the house actually calls for.
Sadie Ridge
New construction, which usually means a move-in rather than a move-out. We protect the finished floors and door frames on the way in — they haven't been lived on yet.
Silo Bend
Newer homes on the north end of town. Easy truck access, which is the one thing that actually makes a move cheaper, since you're paying by the hour.
