We take pretty much anything that's not hazardous: old furniture, mattresses, appliances, basement clutter, garage piles, construction debris, e-waste, exercise equipment, and the random stuff that's been in the attic for ten years. If you can show it to us, we can usually take it.
What we can't take: liquid hazardous waste (paint thinners, motor oil, pool chemicals), live ammunition, asbestos, or biological waste. For those, we'll point you to the right city or county facility—just ask.
Junk removal is priced by how much of the truck your stuff fills, not by the pound. A few small items? Quarter-truck rate. A whole basement clear-out? Full truck. We'll eyeball it on arrival and give you the flat number before we lift anything.
If your pile turns out smaller than expected, you pay the smaller rate. If it turns out bigger, we'll tell you the new number before continuing, and you decide whether to keep going.
About a third of our junk-removal jobs start as 'while you're here, can you also…' Yes—and we'll discount it. When the moving crew is already at your house, the marginal cost of hauling out a busted dresser or a stack of empty boxes is small. We pass that savings on.
Same on the move-out side: clearing junk from your old place before the next tenant inspection is a common reason folks call. We'll do the move and the cleanout in one visit, which usually saves a separate trip charge.
Big appliances (fridges, washers, water heaters) and mattresses have their own disposal rules in Illinois and at most disposal sites. We know which items need separate handling and we'll route them to the right place. Sometimes there's a small surcharge for these; we'll always tell you up front.
